Clayton Tour: Art & Culture in the Gilded Age
Please join us for Art & Culture in the Gilded Age, a special tour of Clayton that highlights the many paintings and prints hanging throughout house.
On the tour you will learn about Mr. Frick's earliest documented painting purchases and how his tastes and skill as a collector evolved.You will also learn about other prominent Pittsburgh collectors and how the paintings the Fricks bought related to the standards of the time.
Until March 28, this tour has the very special addition of The Last Gleanings by Jules Breton. This masterpiece, purchased by Mr. Frick in 1895, hung in the dining room at Clayton until 1903. It is on temporary loan to the Frick from The Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens.
