Our Commitment to Education
The Frick is committed to offering engaging, thoughtful programs that explore the interdisciplinary nature of the site. From fine art in The Frick Art Museum to primary sources in Clayton to the history of transportation in our Car and Carriage Museum, our programs stress hands-on, interactive learning, provide collaborative experiences, and encourage deductive reasoning and critical thinking for all ages.
Knowledgeable. Engaging. Interdisciplinary. Relevant.
These are just some of the words teachers have used to describe our museum educators and the tours and workshops we provide for students of all ages. Our hands-on tours and creative workshops are what bring classrooms back year after year. Teachers can also take advantage of several resources, including lesson ideas and an 11-minute preview video of Clayton.
Just as we are committed to educating students, the Frick strives to serve as a dynamic resource for teachers throughout the community. Frick teacher programs are interactive, standards-based explorations of a variety of interdisciplinary subjects.
The Roy A. Hunt Foundation Award for Commitment to Education in the Arts and Humanities
Each year, the Roy A. Hunt Foundation Award for Commitment to Education in the Arts and Humanities is presented to a teacher who has demonstrated a commitment to participating in the Frick’s education programs, and who has successfully integrated the arts and humanities into the students’ learning experience.
