Art & Absinthe - CANCELED

During Maker & Muse: Women and Early Twentieth Century Art Jewelry

Fridays, March 13, April 10, and May 8
5:00–7:00 p.m.

THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN CANCELED.
We apologize for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause.

Join The Frick Pittsburgh, Wigle Whiskey, and our favorite female DJs for an evening of jewels, jams, and spirits at The Frick Art Museum. Inspired by our exhibition of early-twentieth-century art jewelry and the progressive women who engendered these gems, we’re serving the turn-of-the-century bohemian’s favorite beverage. Witness the elegant drip of an absinthe fountain, learn about the controversial drink linked with artists and writers for decades, view dazzling jewels in our exhibition galleries, and mingle with The Green Fairy. (Literally, she’ll be here.) Learn more about the evenings' music below.

Jewelry adornment is encouraged!

About the Music

DJ Jess is trained in violin and dance, which helped foster her beatmatching and creative transitional skills behind the decks. In 2019, she opened up for Sheila E at the Women Who Rock benefit concert at Stage AE. DJ Jess has also performed in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Columbus, and Charleston, WV. The music for this evening will include a fusion of modern lounge remixes from classic female jazz and blues artists blended with indie selections and lo-fi electronic and swing remix tracks, bridging the gap between old and new, and creating the perfect soundtrack for sipping and mingling.
