Enjoy a festive, guided walk through the heart of the Frick grounds as you explore how the holidays were celebrated in Pittsburgh during the Gilded Age. Hear about the origins of many of our favorite holiday traditions as you take in the cheerful atmosphere of the Frick’s festivities.
Sharing the Season: Family Site Walks

Gather the whole family for a guided outdoor site walk and discover the stories behind some of our favorite holiday traditions. Learn how Pittsburghers of the past celebrated the season and share favorite traditions of your own! This kid-friendly tour experience is geared towards families with children age ten and under, and is ideal for family groups visiting together for the holidays.
These 30-minute guided tours take place outdoors and will not enter any of the museums on site. Tours begin outside the Grable Visitor Center and conclude outside of Clayton; the tour route is fully wheelchair and stroller accessible. To maintain social distancing, space on walking tours is limited; advance reservation is strongly recommended. Check in at the Grable Visitor Center upon arrival. Tours take place in all weather. Masks are required for all tour participants over the age of 2.
