Easter Eggstravaganza at the Frick

Start a new Easter tradition this spring! Families with kids of all ages will enjoy traditional Easter egg rolling and racing, along with playing silly games and snapping pictures in our one-of-a-kind photo booths. Our littlest friends can play Easter games, while older ones will enjoy creating clever Easter cards in our studio. Face painting, cookies and lemonade will be available throughout the morning. This fun-filled morning will finish with an Easter egg hunt and special prizes to round out the day. The fun isn’t limited to the kids! Adults are encouraged to wear their most creative Easter Bonnet and enter our Easter Bonnet contest! Get as crazy as you like as you try to earn the vote of our special guest judge. Winner will receive tea for two at The Café at the Frick. Suggested for children ages 3-10. $10 per child. $5 per additional siblings. Accompanying adults free.Advance registration suggested. Art and the Chemistry of Color
Join us for a special family event during Remake Learning Days!

Meet at the Education Center

Learn how science, nature and art come together beautifully through a day of creative hands-on experiences at the Frick Pittsburgh. Investigate the permanence (and vanishing acts!) of plant and mineral pigments; explore artist Elise Adibi’s Respiration Paintings, a multisensory exhibition in our greenhouse; check out rainforest plants and dry desert cactus; and help paint a fanciful, giant garden outdoors. These activities run all day — no registration required.
Register for one of three FREE special paint workshops: grind pigments, separate an egg, then make and use your own tempera paint to create a unique masterpiece. Workshops begin at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. Space is limited, so advance registration for workshops only is suggested. To register for a workshop, click here.

Pet Tales

A self-guided experience for families to get moving, learn and have fun!

Families are invited to gallop, waddle, waggle, and prance across the Frick’s “fetchingly” beautiful grounds while learning about the pets that lived at Clayton.

Stop at the Visitor Center for our new Pet Tales at the Frick walking guide and enjoy an animal-themed jaunt meant for people! Go at your own pace and take yourself­—and your family—for a playful walk! FREE.
