Individual and Group Tours

Experience art and history in a distinctive, memorable way with a docent-led tour of Clayton, the historic home of the Henry Clay Frick family, and/or The Frick Art Museum. These tours provide you with opportunities to view fine and decorative arts from the Renaissance to the present, as well as learn how the Frick family lived during the turn of the 20th century.

Clayton Tour: Life in the Gilded Age

Clayton is an example of both the home of a wealthy Pittsburgh family and of late Victorian architecture and interior design. Visitors on the Life in the Gilded Age tour have the unique experience of learning about the Frick family, local history and Victorian social customs in the family’s home, where more than 90% of the furniture and artifacts on display are original.

Spotlight Tour of Clayton

Offered Saturdays and Sundays in July, August and September

This half-hour tour of Clayton introduces the 19th-century home of industrialist Henry Clay Frick and his family. You will visit the formal rooms of the first floor where the family entertained guests from local Pittsburgh friends to important public officials like President Theodore Roosevelt. View spectacular original furnishings and household items as you learn about the Fricks and life in Gilded Age Pittsburgh.

Family Tour of Clayton

Growing Up at Clayton: Summertime Hands-On Tours for the Whole Family
Offered at 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays, July 1–August 30

Kids plus Clayton add up to an unbeatable combination of summer fun and learning! History becomes real as children visit this intriguing 19th-century home, puzzle over touchable antique clothes and household tools, and hear stories about growing up long ago. Curiosity and questions encouraged! These tours are just-for-families and most appropriate for ages 6 and up, accompanied by an adult.

COST:
