Join the Frick Education team for an Act 48 educator workshop that explores the complex historical context of the Gilded Age and its impact on modern capitalism.
Through a tour of the historic house, Clayton, learn about the lives of steelworkers, the realities of labor, and the Homestead Steel Strike & Lockout of 1892. Then come back to the classroom and participate in an interactive game, which emphasizes the historic themes from the tour. After the tour and game, explore ways to implement similar activities and content into your own curriculum.
The Frick Pittsburgh is an approved Act 48 provider. This workshop offers 4 hours of Act 48 credit and is for teachers who are currently actively teaching in a classroom setting, grades K-12. Advanced registration is required. Please note that the second floor of Clayton is not wheelchair accessible. Please contact education@thefrickpittsburgh.org for information about accommodations.
All attendees will receive lunch and a teacher membership, good for 1 year.
