Explore the Duquesne Club's rich 153-year history through rare archives, historic menus, and stories of the industrialists and dignitaries who shaped Pittsburgh — including Henry Clay Frick's influential years as a member. This presentation traces the Club's Civil War origins, its Gilded Age prominence, its ties to the city's industrial growth, and the pioneering women who helped define its future.

About Lunch Pail Lectures

Lunch Pail Lectures are The Frick Pittsburgh’s new monthly lecture series covering topics including current exhibitions, the Frick family, Pittsburgh and more! All attendees are encouraged to enjoy lunch during this program; brown bag lunches are welcome, or order online from The Café at the Frick. Online orders should be placed by 11:00 AM the day of the lecture to ensure pickup by 11:45 AM.

About the Presenter

Rachel Colker is the historian and archivist of the Duquesne Club of Pittsburgh. After earning a graduate degree in history, archives, and museum studies at Duquesne University, Rachel spent nearly twenty years at the Heinz History Center, where she served as an archivist, curator, and project coordinator. She has also worked as a consulting historian and freelance writer for some of Pittsburgh’s leading organizations, including the Pittsburgh Zoo, the Andy Warhol Museum, and U.S. Steel. Her most recent book, An Illustrated History of the Duquesne Club, was published to commemorate the Club’s 150th anniversary.
