Celebrate the upcoming exhibition, The Scandinavian Home: Landscape and Lore, with a screening of Finding Hygge (2018). This award-winning documentary explores the Danish art of hygge, the practice of finding joy and coziness in every day pursuits. Filmmakers examine hygge’s expansion beyond Scandinavia to become a global phenomenon and investigate how the pursuit of joy and happiness plays out in real life.
The screening will include an introduction to The Scandinavian Home by the Frick’s chief curator, Dawn Brean.
Film runtime is 85 minutes; subtitles in English. Advanced registration encouraged, walk-up tickets can be purchased in the Grable Visitor Center while space is available.
