Description:

Inspired by the Lewis Hine Pictures America exhibition, enjoy a live-accompanied screening of The Italian (1915, 1h 18m). This special program traces themes of immigration, identity, and visual storytelling across photography and early film, enriched by historical insights and examples of archival materials from the Heinz History Center’s Italian American Collection. With Melissa E. Marinaro (Heinz History Center), Eric Cook (Pittsburgh Film Orchestra), and Chad Hunter (Pittsburgh Silent Film Society), followed by a Q&A.
