Reflect on the power of art in fostering empathy, understanding, and appreciation for different perspectives with guest speakers Maureen Kochanek and Dani Moss.

All participants will have after-hours exclusive access to the Kara Walker: Harper’s Pictorial History of the Civil War (Annotated) exhibition at the start of this workshop. Time in the galleries will be followed by collectively investigating the works of Kara Walker and other artists through visual analysis, self-reflection, art-making, and conversation.

This workshop is facilitated by Maureen Vissat Kochanek, Art Historian and professor at Duquesne University, and Dani Moss, DAT (Doctorate of Art Therapy), board-certified art therapist and licensed counselor, and professor of graduate art therapy and counseling at Seton Hill University. Both facilitators are white women committed to facing racism and promoting social justice using their respective expertise and belief in the transformative power of art.

An individual ticket includes two glasses of wine, light bites, and all the materials needed for the activity for one person. The bundled ticket includes a bottle of Frick signature wine to share, light bites, and the supplies for two people to participate in the activity. Must be 21 or older.
